From Bacon...Mayhem Monday

Mondays will be the day we talk about the mayhem in our lives. It'll range from the crazy things the munchkins do or say to the chaos swarming in our heads. Eventually we'll make it so you can link up your mayhem too.

Today my mayhem is brought to you by Gavin's 18-month doctor appointment. Sure he's 19-months old (he didn't get the second half of his 12-month shots until 18-months old so a month late for this appointment isn't too bad in my book) but it had to be done.

Now a doctor's appointment may not count as mayhem to you but for a family that doesn't leave the house as a group of four (Madden is on lockdown because of his preemie status, no need to expose him to more germs than absoultely necessary) this was an adventure.

Inevitably last night was a doozy. Madden had no desire to sleep. We went to bed at 9:30, he ate at 10 and midnight and didn't go to sleep until 1:30!!! It was rooouuugghhh!!!

We magically got out of the house on time and went to the doctor. This was only the second occasion we've trekked out of the house with both kids.

The appointment went well although ran insanely long for a certain busy toddler. He's 36" tall (off the charts,) weights 29lbs (80th percentile) and his head is in the 75th percentile. Our little guy is huuuuge!!! At this rate he's well on his way to being over 6ft tall but we'll see.

Apparently there are no shots at the 18-month appointment. We were able to get the flu shots though...all of us (except M.) We were all troopers!

After the appointment we went to the mall to ride the "tchoo tchoo."

En route to the mall with two piyas (pacifiers)
on hand for comforting after his shot
Because Gavin has the coolest daddy around, he didn't have to ride the train alone!

Daddy and Gavin on the "tchoo tchoo!"

After the train and a quick bottle for baby, we got smoothies and headed home in 102 degree heat!!! Oh yes friends, we're on another heat streak here in sunny, SoCal! No Fall here. Maybe it was the heat that made this day seem so completely exhausting.

We got home in time for Gavin to fall asleep having his naptime bottle (yes, he still has a bottle, don't judge!) All the boys in the house are asleep as I type away even though I'm certain I'm the one that has had the least amount of sleep in the past 24 hours and I've still survived the mayhem on my Monday...or at least the first half.

Any mayhem on your Monday?
